Placing an Order

Ordering at The Original Wine Company is fast and secure. To place your first order, follow the 5 simple steps listed below. When you make your first purchase, your account is automatically created.

1. When you've found what you want, click on the Buy Now! button to hold the product until you are ready to buy it. (You can remove it later if you want to.)The minimum amount of bottles you must buy is 12 (which can be mixed in any way you want) and thereafter in lots of 12 (24,36,48,etc)
2. When you have finished shopping click the Cart Contents at the top-right corner of your screen to view what is in your shopping basket.
3. Next, hit checkout.
4. Fill in your Logon details, if you have not already done so. Fill out the online order form and Click the continue button. Remember you must be 18 years old or over to place an order on this site. Please add any instructions that you might feel are necessary to insure prompt delivery of your order
5. Enter your payment information for secure processing and you've finished! You will receive a payment and order confirmation by email. If you choose to pay by cheque the order will be processed when the cheque has been cleared by our bank.

We're sorry that the delivery service excludes the Scottish Islands, Northern Ireland, Isles of Scilly and Isle of Man. Deliveries to these locations can be arranged for a nominal charge. We are sorry that we do not deliver to the Channel Islands or destinations outside of the UK.

If you choose the free delivery service please make sure you live within 13 miles or approximately 20 kilometres from Nottingham city centre (NG1 postcode). If you are in doubt please email us at info@originalwine.com

We reserve the right to charge for delivery if you do meet the free delivery charge criteria.

Credit card payment security

When you enter your confidential credit card details your order is transferred for processing by Protx.

Protx uses industry standards for secure encrypted communication over the World Wide Web. HTTP/SSL is supported by nearly all web browsers, including Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer. It encrypts all of your personal information including credit card number, name, and address, so that it cannot be read as the information travels over the Internet. Protx security has been approved by all the major UK banks including Lloyds TSB, Bank of Scotland and HSBC. Your credit card details will never be stored on our server.

Once the transaction is approved by Protx you will be sent an e-mail confirmation and we will receive your order. Using these safety measures means that we can ensure that the risk of online credit card use is generally lower than traditional "low-tech" transactions.

IMPORTANT NOTES: DETAILED CHECKS WILL BE CARRIED OUT, INCLUDING RANDOM TELEPHONE VERIFICATION.
